tried skinny, was just as bad as vodafone,

tried 2degrees, got 1 bar! still terrible and not really good enough for reliability.

Looks like I'll have to go the route of sure signal.

fizzychicken:

Ive been with vodafone for 7 years but over time the reception at my house has become worse. I am now at the stage where phone calls break up constantly and I have to walk down the street to get text messages. I understand that since the introduction of 4G there is some kind of bubble of no reception where I live.

I want to try out Spark to see if it is any better but everyone I know is on vodafone. Is there a way to buy a spark sim that doesnt have a prepaid 'package' plan associated to it so I can just try it for a few days? The website isnt clear on how to do this (Or Im just being dumb)

I was with Vodafone for 15 years........and I the end went to Spark for exactly this reason: inferior coverage.

Spark has the best coverage across most of NZ. I carry mutliple phones and can see the differences very clearly. If you want one phone, then get Spark. If you're OK with two phones make the second one 2Degrees as they have cheaper data where they have a presence....and use Vodafone for everything else. So you get 3 telcos with two SIMs.
