She says its a fake because the people are actors...

She says it's fake because Saatchi & Saatchi admit that it's fake.

There is a diffrance between "fake" (intentional deception) and fiction (story telling)

I guess what I'm asking is do you think this is fake or fiction?

Does the guy that wears the chicken suit in the Vodafone ad actually work for a fast food joint as a mascot? Are there colored bubbles flying through the air, infecting people and making them sing and dance? Do we see babies driving 4-wheel drives down to the beach to have a surf? It's an ad.

someone speaking common sense. Its a great ad good stuff telecom and the company that made it.

I'm away for work at the moment and had several beers with dinner and got back to my hotel late. I flicked on the TV and saw the ad but this time I could swear that they've removed the McCallum and Partners text at the end of it - so it looks like they've bowed to the negative critisism. Can any confirm this as I can't be 100% sure!

When I first saw the ad I preferred it to the damn monkeys but that's when I believed Telecom approached this firm and asked them to make some sort of choreographed skit. Knowing the truth changes the whole ad for me and THAT is the definition of a misleading advertisement. It's common sense when you see a lady saying "this is the best cleaning product I've ever used!". We've seen these paid actors many times before. I suppose you could argue that it's the same thing, but there is a scale and this is at the high end of the 'acting - lie' scale.

This still would've been a good ad without the statement at the end, it completely misled me and now I'm just mad about it

As others have pointed out, maybe we should be reviewing why we allow so many other misleading ads on TV? When a person claims they use a product because it's the best thing for them and their family, they should have to be honest about it.
