I wonder if Spark will do something about their plans soon? They're so behind at the moment.

How do you figure that out? SD charge $35/30d ($1.17/d). Skinny charge $35/28d ($1.28/d). Only if you use between 4 - 4.5GB per month will you be better off under Skinny.

As for Spark's plans, I don't think they every intend to be competitive price way. They like chucking things on like Lightbox and Spotify, while leaving the price conscious customers to use Skinny or Skinny Direct. Just like 2 Degrees do with Warehouse Mobile.

Skinny's revamped home page doesn't seem to have any link to Skinny Direct. Also, if you go straight to the Skinny Direct page and look at the international roaming prices it seems as if they are not offering the new roaming plans on Skinny Direct.

Is this a hint that they are looking to phase out the Skinny Direct brand?

Going to have to assume Spark will have some plan changes coming for both Spark Prepay and Pay-Monthly otherwise I could save myself $14 a month going to Skinny and getting an extra 8 gig of data at the same time

I think the plan is Skinny Direct + BigPipe to be phased out and migrated to Skinny. They don't seem to care of those sub brands anymore.

You can send data and minutes to another person on Skinny as well.

50 cents to do it, if they’re not on a roll over plan lasts one week, if on a roll over plan lasts one year.

I would’ve convinced some people to change to skinny if the no roll over lasted a 28 days, but for a week I’ll just keep lending them my phone to make calls, as on the $16 plan have more minutes then what I can use.

Also I don’t see Spark trying to Compete as they are the same company I.e serve same shareholders.
Skinny is Sparks answer to lower cost plans.

I’m very happy with Skinny, just wished the plan below $16 was roll over.

Me2U (and U2Me) is free for 2 degrees customers, but only available for prepay customers only :(

Totally agree about Spark not going to price match Skinny. Spark are after the customers who wants bells and whistles (Spotify, Lightbox, Spark Thanks, Free WiFi at phone booths, etc). Skinny is the brand for low price mobile and broadband plans.

ME2U on 2degrees is credit transfer only?

Credit transfer is free on Skinny, but they also let data and minutes be transferred at a 50 cent cost.

Actually I was just thinking

$66 gets 30 GB of data, then if sold 3 GB for $16, someone would get $160, just cost $66, plus transfer cost. I don’t actually know anyone on Skinny so can’t see what largest transfer can be done in one block.

Receiving party have to be on $16 so lasts one year.

As it currently stands the 1GB combo costs 2 dollars more than warehouse mobile, gives you 0.25 GB less and last 3 days less.

Data add ons don’t roll over at all with Skinny.

Warehouse better deal for lower user, just it uses 2degrees network and I view Sparks one as better.

I kept losing 4g on 2degrees but maybe that’s sorted now they’ve dropped 2G.

Yea, although my data purchases don't usually last that long so it's not a major concern unless they start selling 5GB addons like warehouse mobile does :)

I am waiting for Warehouse Mobile to allow for credit transfer which is the only thing stopping me from bringing all households mobile plans across from Skinny (my parents are on casual rates and I would like the ability to transfer the credits before they expire)

*Haven't had any issue with 2degrees coverage but I work in Auckland CBD so YMMV*
