This sounds like they're adjusting their plans to encourage users to resign / move to a newer plan after the 24 months. I imagine (if they still offer it) that you'll get another 24 months if you move to a newer plan once it runs out?

Not according to the rep I was speaking with, should have mentioned I did ask this and the answer was No, the Spotify freebie can only be used once on the given number, wonder what would happen if one ports away then ports back in, would spark say “sorry the Spotify freebie against this number has already been used” I doubt it but we all know what assume can be broken out to :)

This might explain why my wife's Spotify Premium has been forked since she got a new iPhone about 2 months ago.  Spark support has been abysmal in this case.  They've come back saying "it's fixed" numerous time, and each time it just gives an error when she tries to register.  It was working, they rolled up the account to add the new phone and then it broke, and it's been broken since.  I'm going to the commerce commission next :(

Sounds to me like when it was rolled up plan wasn't relinked.

Can you flick me details. I'll make sure it's sorted for you.

@kornflake I'll ask the right folks for a clear answer for you.

I wasn't part of the team that built the changes, while i understand a fair bit about it. I'm not sure i have all the answers to respond at this stage.

Note: that team and myself are still on holiday, will not be getting back to you on that this week.

Thank you. I started this thread because I noticed the change when I was looking to change to a more expensive plan with more data. It would be good to get the official word whether or not changing to a more expensive plan will mean my spotify privileges will come to an end in a period of time.

@hio77 have you managed to cross paths with someone that can give an offical word, as to the status of Spotify premium as yet?

Confirmation has come, the above is correct.

I'm also told it's not possible to use it to get the family plan.

I had the Spotify premium discount, ported to 2degrees, now I've ported back to Spark and was able to get the Spotify premium discount again. Same number as before.

Out of interest, what period of time elapsed between the port to 2Degrees and the port back to Spark?

What happens if I switch my plan to a more expensive plan?

Only redemable once for the life of the service.

Mate, I am not trying to be facetious or stupid, but I really don't know what that means.

If I switch from my spark 1+1gb (1gb + 1gb bonus data) phone plan, to the $59 4gb+4gb plan, how does that impact my spotify premium?

Thanks.

Probably because a plan change could be a new contract and the Spotify was already applied to that number before - if the rules are followed this could mean no Spotify on plan changes. Something to be clarified for sure.

Joined 2degrees on 13th October 2018, went back to Spark 10th January 2019, so not very long.

I wouldn't recommend it as an option to retain Spotify premium, if that's the only way, as it's a hassle and the reasons for leaving/joining were unrelated to Spotify for me anyway

Just read the Spotify t&c on the Spark site, something shady going on there. Someone from Spark needs to drop the marketing BS, and explain it in plain English! At this point a certain beer springs to mind.
