The other bit of the question is about WiFi area and it is known that cheap extendeders cause more problems than a thought out solution. Also costs make really hard to cover a large area. You should concentrate on where you spend most of the time.

Not to mention 20 acres is a large area to be covering with WiFi - realistically WiFi will work up to maybe 100m or so to a portable device such as a laptop or mobile. To cover such a large area will require multiple WiFi access points which given the description of being "in a valley" may be challenging.

2degrees customers only roam onto the VodafoneNZ network in very few locations now as 2degrees have built their own mobile network out over the last 10+ years

Check out 2degrees Wi-Fi calling it's a fantastic service and works very well

I am sure 2degrees can handle 0800 and 0508 numbers as well

I'm talking about making and receiving phone calls. Not broadband.

And did you read how Wi-Fi calling works?

pretty sure the OP is confused with the terminologies and referring to WiFi and cell reception as the same thing. my understanding is that he wants better cellphone coverage.

What I cannot understand is the OP seems to be getting a signal such that they can hear the other party yet the other party cannot hear them. I'd have thought if the signal was sufficient for incoming voice to be heard it's would be sufficient for outgoing voice to be heard?

Seems weird too - either you have enough signal to be able to use the phone, or it simply won't work at all - the phone doesn't half-work; this sounds like an issue with the phone, really...from my experience if one party can't hear the other it's got next to nothing to do with the signal strength.

I'm with Farmside as no one else wanted to connect me. Strange as that may be. It's adequate and I can watch netflix no probs. I have a Huawai 5G modem and no external aerial. I just got the modem because I had no place to permanently fix an aerial. That's sorted now.

I'm pretty sure that Farmside uses Voda NZ networks.

I've experienced the same thing at certain addresses I know to have poor reception - I can hear them but they can't hear me. It works sometimes for a little while then I hear the "hello?? are you there?? lost you..." - however this never happens to me in areas with sufficient reliable reception.
