bp1000:

I've installed the latest iOS and watchOS releases and the watch app shows Spark now support a cellular plan. I'm overseas for a couple of days so I can't finish the setup until I'm back.

It is annoying as a customer that these plans don't work when you are roaming - that is, the watch doesn't have cellular connection.

This isn't a limitation of Spark. All carriers internationally seem to have a note that the Apple Watch cannot roam

Yes, I wasn't having a go at Spark themselves, and I expect the way roaming was designed originally probably doesn't support this without significant change which will have lots of local differences across countries. Also, noting that a specific model of the Watch only supports a much more limited number of LTE bands than a smartphone, so could only roam in a limited number of countries.

It's more an annoyance that one of the key selling points for the watch is that it has independence from the primary smartphone device that are lost when you go outside of your home country.
