Does this count as from somewhere else? :-)

http://computerworld.co.nz/news.nsf/netw/244F318FD195F26ECC2574D40003C0D1

Of note:

"Business plans start at$59.95. Previously the data cap on this plan was 3GB but this moves to 15GB. A $79.95 plan offers a cap of 40GB (previously 15GB) while the top plan at $109.95 moves from 30Gb to 60GB.

For consumers, entry level is $29.95 with the cap moving from 200MB to 500MB. A $49.95 plan now offers a 10GB cap, up from 6GB, while $59.95 delivers 20GB, up from 10GB.

The top plan is now $79.95 offering 40GB, up from 15GB.

The changes see previous top-end plans dropped entirely: $99.95 and $149.95 consumer plans which offered up to a 50GB cap; and a $109.95 business plan with a 60GB cap.

Upload limits of 128kb have also been removed to deliver maximum speeds up and down."

Telecom disclosed this information today during a conference call. There's now a discussion on the new plans and I've posted the full price table too.

Thanks MF.
To clear any confusion, customers currently on the Pro Advanced plan will be moved to Pro, while customers on Pro Ultra will be able to keep their current plan if they choose to.

You'll only be moved to Pro if you're currently on the Pro plan, or the Pro advanced plan. If you're on Pro Ultra, you can stay on it.

Wow, this is really great news, and makes the timing of this thread quite ironic! I am doubly stoked to not only have twice the data cap but more importantly (for me) the removal of those darn upload caps. We have a baby on the way in November and one of the things frustrating me was the thought of taking hours to upload video clips to YouTube for my family in the UK. This means I no longer have this worry!

The other great thing I found this morning is that if you go here: http://www.telecom.co.nz/adsltwoplus, you can check whether your address is ADSL2+ capable (mine is!) and whether your modem / router is ADSL2+ capable. Mine wasn't, but it then gave me the option of having a free wireless modem sent out for free in exchange for signing up to two years. As I can't see myself canning ADSL within the next two years this is a great offer. Does anyone have any experience with the Thomson Wireless Modems Telecom are currently supplying? Any good? Anything is better than nothing I suppose but it would be good to have the opinion of a fellow GZer!

Just got round to performing a speedtest now that I'm on the new plan -- more than happy with the results!
