116 pretty sure is a DFS channel. Hard set channel 36 or 149 (assuming you are using 80MHz width). If you are using 40MHz width, then you can choose 36 , 44, 149, or 157

 

Change the SSID/password to what you want, then leave it alone for 5 mins and see if it starts behaving normally.

Thanks heaps! You are right, setting the channel to 149 manually, it starts working immediately.

Easy. No worries. I didn't realize those modems actually broadcast on DFS channels or would have thought of that right away.

 

@snnet is this your issue too possibly?

Very possibly, I did just reboot it as it got a little sluggish and the 5GHz band wasn't broadcasting again - however a Hidden Network appeared, I specified the SSID for the 5G band and it connected that way on my windows 10 laptop

 

I will try that configuration of locking down

 

Don't know why I didn't play with those settings before, I install APs as part of my job lol. I just figured glitch I guess
