With these new Endless plans, does anyone know what the download speed drops to after the first [insert the number of the relevant plan] GB at max speed? I am just 300m from the Spark cell tower and normally get between 180 to 230Mbs down on 4G LTE.

It's about 1.4mb/sec - still perfectly usable for most things

It looks like they have exactly copied Vodafone's offering, except Vodafone allow hotspotting whereas Spark appear to be charging a $10 premium for it.

Vodafone is actually better value at the "low" end -- $40 gets you 4GB high-speed (instead of 3GB) and $60 gets you 12GB (instead of 4GB). Plus Vodafone has a $100 for 100GB option too.

I guess Spark thinks they can effectively charge a premium over Vodafone?

Spark's network runs rings around voda's so they probably can charge a premium. At least with their $80 plan you're getting a Spotify and Lightbox account - if you use them it's still cheaper even with the additional $10 for hotspotting

hi,

i am regularly hitting the 40gb mark, particularly due to photo back ups and some sharepoint hotspotting.

is there any way to get a higher limit before getting restricted. i am regularly on a go slow for the last week and its pretty bad and unworkable to use as a hotspot.

perhaps you need a bigger data connection - so consider getting a vodafone 4g broadband, from what i remember it has caps around 300gb $73  , 600gb $83

If Vodafone coverage is okay for you, try their Pay Monthly Endless Data 100GB plan for $100 per month (includes hotspot and is open term so you can switch to a lower allowance plan if your usage reduces). I don't see any of the other carriers offering anything above 40GB on a mobile plan before a speed throttle kicks in.

Is streaming videos still watchable once you're throttled? E.g SkyGo?

Works great on my laptop tethered to the phone too, if you're looking for a medium screen :). I'm on Vodafone, but the throttled speed on Spark is similar.

I noticed that the $39.99 Endless Mobile Plan is no longer listed on the website.

Just checked and it’s no longer there. Do they still offer it?

Also I saw a link that there was an endless data with no text and calling for $22.99

Hope that $39.99 plan hasn't been discontinued so quickly.... had just convinced a friend to upgrade from Spark prepaid to it.

Wouldn't surprise me if Spark was deepening their dual brand strategy by removing some of the crossover of price points between Skinny and Spark.

Also I believe that $22.99 plan is an add-on to Endless Mobile plan - designed to go in a tablet/iPad or similar, like a data sharer in the old 2degrees world, not a standalone plan in its own right.

Hopefully spark will try and compete with Vodafone by offering a similar 100gb cap, particularly now they have removed light box
