West Coast of the South Island. There are no options apart from copper and wireless, and I can say with absolute certainty she will never be able to get fibre, outside of paying for it herself.

Update: found out she's paying about $100 a month for 60GB of data and a landline. Seems a bit costly to me. She doesn't want to change from Spark, so do they have any better deals for copper customers?

They're trying to encourage people away from ADSL so unlikley you'll get great deals for it.

They are forcing people away from ADSL if FWA or Fibre is available - Eventually no one on Spark will have xDSL unless there is no alternative

If the tower in her area wasn't oversubscribed, I'd get her onto wireless in a flash - but that would cost her more than what she pays at the moment, so she wouldn't be interested.
