Just put $207 on prepay balance.
It has buy plan, then next page activate with new card.
Very disappointing that I can’t use prepay balance to buy.
Will just stick to monthly as if do give card details, it might charge card and leave the $207 tied up with them for over a year.

Agreed, same situation here. Waiting for the weekend to pass to try & speak to somebody. Problem is, the deal expires today. I first tried to purchase with an insufficient balance, hoping that the system would allow me to do an online EFTPOS payment. When the only payment option was a card, I decided to top up the pre-pay balance hoping that would allow me to purchase the annual plan. Again, the system would only accept a card. Nowhere on the screen during this process did it make it clear that the annuall plan can only be purchased by entering your CC details.

I suspect they don't want people potentially using top ups from retailers as those incur additional costs.
Charging direct using debit/credit is cheaper.

I topped up by internet banking. $150, max internet banking has. And then $50, making my balance $208, $1 more than needed.
The issue is not that they may have reasons for not allowing prepay to be used, but it’s not clear until top up the amount and then find cannot use it. It’s not up front that it must be paid for by credit card. Also credit cards charge fees also, internet banking top up cost them nothing.
Now they have $200 upfront that wouldn’t have been paid if realised, doesn’t seem right.
Fully agree. I’d recommend putting in a complaint with Skinny and ask for those funds to be refunded.
They need to be clear on these things. I think you have a reasonable chance of getting a refund.
As a side note, the credit card charges for top ups/payments will be lower than the costs involved in selling top ups via retailers.

Worst case scenario, you can transfer your credit to family members or friends who use Skinny, and they could pay you for the balance transferred.
I’m trying to get resolved by chatting to Skinny.
Doing it by text messaging through Apple business text. Since not a straight forward situation thought better to do it this way rather then put a CSR on the spot on phone. Also have hard copy of what said.
Slow progress though as about 26 hours turn around from when I reply.
Last response was to answer three security questions out of about 8, which I did about 3.30pm yesterday.
