Get It Now Its A Long Time To Wait. And The Outcome Might Not Be So Good If You Wait.. could just be time wasted

New iPhone is 99% certain to have - a better auto focus camera, a 200MHz bump in CPU speed (600 vs 400), 256MB RAM (anyone who's been experiencing crashing in latest games due to current 128MB RAM, lag in apps will really appreciate it), electronic hardware compass (likely full turn by turn in GPS - although no sign of it in current beta 5 3.0, afaik). Possibly will also have; better power management (however any battery life increase is likely to be eaten up by faster CPU, more ram, auto focus etc - but maybe...), improved 3D acceleration, flash (camera not the software.)

So yeah, I'd wait the extra few weeks. If you are really impatient - buy a second hand 2G for $500; then sell it when new ones come out. They are not likely to drop in value.

If you have processed an IR3 form already then you will receive your refund within 10 working days, If you are waiting on a PTS then i think the refundwill be out in a couple of months

I would do what my friend in the states does before WWDC - buy what you want from a place that offers a price match within xxx days or the ability to return things the week before WWDC.

If the announcement is a better product, return the unopened one you got the prior week, if its cheaper then do the retrospective price match.
