danielfaulknor: Moral of the story is it's not worth it as a primary phone?

Trying to decide what phone to buy.

CHeers

There's not many decent phones available from Telecom for under $400.  I don't know anything about the $279 Samsung, but I'd say the first decent phones are the Nokia 6120 and the Sony C510.  Would be worth checking out parallel imported - there's quite a selection available now.

The R6 is a great phone. I bought one for Mum and everything works great, excellent coverage everywhere and call clarity is excellent. For $149.00 It's excellent value with camera and other whatnot found on more expensive phones. I definitely recommend it.

Anyone found any games that work on the R6 from the Tworld? Every one I click on says not available.

No, but I found a bunch online for free that I could then transfer over via the USB data cable. Search for 'midp 2' or 'mobile java' games with a resolution of 176x220. You won't find the phone model listed on any of the sites so try and find one that lets you just go by 'midp 2 176x220', instead of insisting on a model.

Not all the games you find will be legal, work at all, work well on the R6, or even be safe so you start your searching at entirely your own risk.

I found out recently that it reads .txt files easily, I've been reading ebooks on the bus on the way to work. Doesn't drain the battery much ether.
