Imagine you need to send an MMS image to your boss that doesnt have a phone with email, and he's on the move so email just will not do. The ONLY shortcoming of MMS is user interface - nobody has done a really good one yet. This article backs that up... http://www.3g.co.nz/?p=36

Anyone know why this phone do not support MMS? If the phone have a camera, and telecom network support MMS why can't this phone send MMS?

If the problem is not having a MMS client, surely their must be such a program for pocket pc.

There is no suitable MMS client. STI - you have a very simplistic view on why things should work.

Since this device is not aimed at the consumer market I would expect someone to develop a smart application to interface with the camera API and upload images to a server for example. This can be useful on insurance for example.

MMS is not suitable for business use because there is no traceability or accountability. Also it requires everyone to have MMS-capable phones, which may not be feasible for businesses. And I would expect the manager in question to be on-line with a smart device too, if this is the kind of speedy business s/he is on to.

There is traceability and accountability with MMS. We have written an MMS server that handles inbound MMS messages and saves them on the web - we log each cellphone number, the time it was sent, and we save any images, and or media files that were attached. In a business environment we might only process messages sent from staff.

And it is totally feasible for a business to buy all their staff MMS capable phones.

MMS is cool, its quicker then sending email (at least it is on my phone), and once the UI is sorted then it'll become as popular as SMS. But then again what would I know... I'm just the user of the device...

the program sounds interesting, like the rate my pxt type site, i could imagine it would be a good application for a creative company in marketing or media or the like and if the users are out and about they can take pictures of whatever and send them back.
MMS crosses the borders and caters for much lower spec handsets, lower spec means lower cost and mms is a fixed certain cost, unless every user has a plan incorporating data sending email is costly. Although email can guarantee quality (say an unscaled vga or 1mp image).

MMS and Email are somewhat interchangable in my mind, MMS is much more accessible and simple but for a user of an apache does it matter? Undoubtedly the appeal of an Apache is its data capability which facilitates email.
On a side note the jasjar has mms and email but you cant email to handsets where you can mms to email.

Please do! I am using one for review and it's great. I now have a reason to sell my Harrier and iPAQ h4150 and get a single CDMA device with Wi-Fi!

Great tool...

no slight at jama but he sure did play down the excitement,
I am definetly keen to try one and the jasjar is def. useable without he stylus so a similar package in smaller size and rumoured increased performance should be interesting, wifi, bt and evdo are an appetizing combination.
what bt profiles does it support?

my jasjar doesn't have obex file transfer just obex pim, making it somewhat cr$p without active sync or ir or a sd card reader.

It doesn't have the file transfer explorer (FTP), but you can transfer files to and from it using Bluetooth.

You need to have Beam activated to enable this feature. Then you can find the services from your desktop and you will be able to send files to it. For example after doing this service discovery, right-click a filename on your computer and use Send To | Bluetooth | [Jasjar name].
