An update to the DNS servers is being applied over the next few days.
I would be interested to hear from anyone else that has the same issue though.

Once we have applied the update to all servers i will post back here to let you know.

Thanks for unlocking.

As I said on the other thread (that can be removed please):

I have reinstalled my Snow Leopard and now, the fix that worked earlier no longer works, still get a lot of DNS traffic.

Was the change done on the DNS servers? Did anybody else find another solution?

Morning,

Yes the change was done right before Christmas, sorry i didn't update the thread.
Can you please confirm for me if the same query is being sent?

Have you tried this to turn of mdns? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3789 I seem to recall that that this had an impact on other services you may want to use. Was that right?

Can you please PM me a new tcpdump of the traffic just so i can be sure i have caught the entire set of requests?

Unfortunately I'll be away until Tuesday but I'll do some tests when I come back.

Yes, I added the NoMulticastAdvertisements and rebooted but it didn't fix the problem (it did last time).
It has no adverse reactions as far as I'm aware unless you disable mdnsreponder completely.

Thanks, when you can is fine of course.
I will also see if we have a machine here with snow leopard and do some tests as well.
