That is a good price, wasn't perchance on a hideously drawn out contract though was it?
EDIT: Actually I see several parallel importers have it for slightly cheaper than that at present.
The 5800 for XT is slightly more expensive than the Vodafone-flavored one - I see E-Info have it for $480, however they don't state how large the included memory card is (I know previously it shipped with 8GB cards, unfortunately asking them is unlikely to be illuminating, they seem largely ignorant of pre-installed memory cards in their retail packages). Being a smartphone, and with its free GPS navigation, and higher screen resolution, its a better buy than the Sony. Still looking for other places selling it in XT freqs.
Stay away from E-Info - they'll probably sell you someone's faulty returned phone. Trust me, I speak from personal experience - plus they are real jerks when it comes to after-sales service.
the warehouse deal wasnt linked to any contract offer. and the gps software on the w995 is free, juyst cists you when it uses the network to update (well under a 1mb a day when ive used it). The software is called wayfinder, ive been using it for a few months now, ive just never selected "purchase" or "subscribe"when it turns on.
