s.joseph: The only diffrence I see is the camera and if you want a camera you should just buy 1.

Most of the pics i take never get blown up beyond 6x4. I would be very happy with a 2MP camera in a phone, just with a better lens, and autofocus. Built in to phone means I would always have a good cam with me, far more use than a seperate camera.

The days of "phone cameras are blurgggh" are nearly behind us...

yes but the model isnt quite as solid as the real thing. Ive heard the slider on this phone is really good. No worries over a long time etc etc

wel ur both right im just finding excusues for my 6255 but ill definately upgrade to the nokia succeeder to the 6265

I gave up on finding excuses for my 6255. I used to love it. Now im just looking for an excuse to drop it of a tall building, blow it up- short on explosives however, or generally destroy it. Im upgrading at the end of my current billing month. Cant wait

Having had a 6255 and ditching it for the 6265, I can honestly say, that (AT THE MOMENT) the 6265 is a far better phone.

Ive had it since Xmas week (They day after the came out) and Ive only had 1 issue with it.

I use it a LOT (currently reading incomign and outgoing calls at 20:56:42, and I text quite a bit) and havent had an issue with the slide as yet. Its still as tight as the day I got it and seems fine. It does have movement at the bottom when closed (wiggles a mm or so if you try it) but when its open it doesnt move at all. Maybe it will be an issue later, I dont know. Anythign thats mechanical will wear. The 6255 flip had gotten sloppy and started to crack after 7 months.

Demo phones tend to get munted very quickly.. people TRY to break the things!

I HATED my 6255. But apart from the fact that I had to pay $300 to upgrade to the 6265, Im very pleased I did.

Photo quality is very good (Can you upload pics to here?) and with a large SD card, its a handing thing to have. I liek the video function and quality, Ive used it quite a bit, even though my 6255 had video also, the 6265 is much better.

The screen on the 6265 is far better than the 6255 and while it operates basically the same, it seems to be a lot nicer to use.

Keypad is good, not too small, not too big. Texting with thumb is easy and the weight balance seems better than the 6255.

One thing that corcerns me is the lens. It doesnt seem to be set back all that deep, however looking at it, there doesnt seem to be any scratches on it so far.

I like the sliding cover on the 2.5 plug, its better than a rubber capping thing. Volume switch is pretty good also. It needs a good push to change the volume and feels solid.

I kept the screen protector on it (for as long as it would last) and its still holding up. I just cut the pull tab off. Im surprised it isnt munted after so many weeks.

Its nice to hold, and have gotten into the habit of putting my finger under the SD card molding as the base then sits in my palm.

The charging socket is now tiny and is a real pain to plug in at night in the dark. Not a huge issue, but can be annoying more than annything.

The 6265 comes with an adapter to change any 'older' chargers (or car chargers etc) to the new small size, which is handy as I dint have to buy a new car charger.

Yeah, there could be improvements, when using the clock as a screen saver, its tiny and hard to read, the themes are nice (comes with 4), but some 2 of the 4 make texts very hard to read due to the colurs used and I cant seem to find any other themes for downloading. (ANYONE GOT ANY HINTS?)

Ok, So, thats what I think. If anyone wants to ask any questions go for it.

If anyone know where I can get FREE Nokia themes for the 6265 from, then please let me know

Yes, but all the hinges, slides, button mechanisms (if any) are made as cheaply as possible to merely have the phone -look- the part.

I assume they dont use any real parts due to theft concerns (even battery covers are usually fake, and are one peice moulds on the back i think.... (or glued on)

YUP. I agree with you. they may LOOK the same, but they are pretty trashy 'demo' units

My Nokia 6265 is getting quite snowy! The same problem with the other slider i had (Siemens SL55) they both collect alot of dust up by the handset speaker... Worse is it falls down under the front cover so i have an annoying christmas snow scene whenever i look at my phone :)

Im glad I dont have to deal with you.

The last $700 item i bought was faulty, and I went back to place of purchase and smiled and said "its faulty", and they replaced it on the spot (iPod at Harvey Normans).

If you moan and complain as loud as you can, then you will possibly be asked to leave the store (they have that right if you are being unreasonable), or they will just tell you to ring telecom (to get you out of the store).

Take the nice pleasant route first. Why raise your voice matter-of-factly at a retail worker whose fault it clearly -isnt-.

I agree, try the soft approach first. However we are dealing with Telecom here!

I tried the soft approach sooooo many times, I gave up and partly out of frustration and annoyance, started B*tching, moanign and complaining to anyone who would listen.

I should add that I did it in a professional manner and never abusively... thatll get you no where!

After a while, they knew I wasnt going to go away. After 7 months of NOT giving up, I finally got the number of the guy who manages all the telecom stores.

After ummmm "discussing" the situation with him for a few phone calls, he realised that I wasnt going to just take 'it' lying down. - I did however threaten them with everythign I could think of, INCLUDING the media, specifically Fair Go. - Ok, The show is a bit wet, but NO company ever wants to go on that show.

So, I am now the owner of a 6255 rather than a piece of s*it 6255.

was it worth the effort? Yes, it was. Was it worth the $300 I had to pay to get one... Im still debating that in my mind. I would have prefered a completely new phone for free.

I run a small business. The most important thing in that business are my customers. To say that I "go out of my way " to fix any issues woudldnt be the truth. Thats just part of the job description... if it aint right, it needs sorting and as fast as you possibly can.

I just wish companies like Telecon had the same mantra.

I know the feeling.

I have a 6255 which I really like, but I can feel it starting to loosen up, I see a 12month lifepsan max for my one.
