Thanks I am taking a read now.
The thread of the discussion is a bit dis-jointed so thanks for the specific pointers...

Mine was good over the weekend, this morning it's turned to absolute rubbish - dialup is almost faster.

I'm still on Big Time and my speeds over the last 2 days have been terribly slow. This is making my decision on whether to stay or go a whole lot easier.

Thanks Ragnor,

I am missing some detail here though that makes it hard to track issues.
To make it easier i need a few bits of information:
* Time of day there are impacts
* Full URL that is having issues
* DNS server IP that is in use for primary and secondary

If there are those that are willing then a copy of the HTTP headers for sites that have repeatable errors would be very useful.

Regards

Paul

There are plenty of geeks on GZ and GP to help you get to the bottom of this.

Check this new thread later

I'm still on an un-cached range myself on BT, so no testing from me atm.

lol, it's pretty ridiculous. Google won't load 9 times out of ten, connection reset each nearly every time. Facebook ends up looking all out of line, no pictures load and is unusable. Imageboards display dated content, some of which is between minutes and hours old and aren't able to be redrawn despite multiple refreshes.

All this is indicative of caching issues. This happened when Telecom first started rolling out the Bluecoats to the DSL network.

I'm just raging that my static IP is now (as of the last couple of days) routing through the Bluecoats. If I didn't have to have it for my IPSec VPN's to standup correctly and pre-configured access-lists on a bunch of routers to access SSH ports I'd sit there power cycling until I found an IP that doesn't route through them.

It's a really, really botched roll-out. Whoever is doing it needs a firm smack around the chops.

Hi Anarkist,

If you are having issues please let us know, have you raised a case with the helpdesk?
In previous posts i have also said that issues can be PM to me with some details so i can investigate the issue. If you include the following it will help:

* Time of Day the Issue happens
* Actions to repeat the issue
* DNS Servers in use IP address would be helpful
* THe full URL of the site you are having issues with.

Also mentioned is the ability request your static to be placed on a bypass list.
If this better suits your needs then PM me you static and i can have it added, it is an over night process at present though.

Regards

Paul

I wonder why a TNZ Category Manager/Product manager isn't manageing this via Twitter (the new, default method that works for staff @ TNZ who are now all under the age of 30).

Yay for someone from TNZ on Geekzone capturing examples of the problem tho.

Perhaps updating the TNZ Service Status page might prove useful (after saying that, it has to be the #1 problem in a customer contact centre to get anything updated on the status page).

Oh so cynical:)
Ill admit it, twitter isn't my thing, personally.

Fair point on the status page, sorry I assumed (ass u me and all that) that it would have been done and didn't actually check it myself. I will ask the CTS people I know what we can do.

you do realise that geekzone has been down for maintenance since 12pm....

your downstream line attenuation is 49 which is getting on the bad side.. this tends to suggest you're far away from the exchange.. your exchange could also have congestion issues during peak periods..

i suspect you've done an isolation test by plugging the adsl router directly into the master phone jack, disconnecting everything else from the other phone jacks and testing
