Go an email from Telecom today asking to rate their site on a survey,, obviously thet see an issue here... ...
here's my reply... Hopefully the'll make sme good improvements, I'd really like it to showcase Telecom as they are...
Innovators.
The General site is Appalling unfortunatley
For example, It uses really idiotic tags for links like javascript:noPopup('http://www.telecom.co.nz/content/0,3900,204217-1005,00.html#table')
when http://www.telecom.co.nz/content/0,3900,204217-1005,00.html would work just as well and allow users to open multiple pages in tabbed browsers. This is the worst web coding i've seen in my life.
All the homepage links come up as "ads.xtra.co.nz" which has caused serious problems overseas,, some webfilters mix it with www.xtra.ca and similar "xtra" keywords & pages as known to possibly contain unsuitable material for some viewers.
Site Search is completely useless. Typing "ericcson" into the field yeilds no results. There is indeed info about Ericcson on the site and Google could find it no trouble.
The content on the site and especially for discontinued products is very very very poor, There are a lot of Nokia 6385's and Sanyo 8100's (which aren't too old yet) out there some people would LOVE a user guide on!
The site USED to have a wider range of content.
I don't think the site reflects on Telecom Innovations.
I pretty much repeated your post for the feedback.
Those javascript hyperlinks suck.
The inability to pay on "yourTelecom" with a credit card online is annoying... particularly when 123 reps don't give a straight answer.
They kept trying to get me to do an automatic credit card direct debit or bank account direct debit. I would rather have the ability to state when and what amount I'd pay the bill. I've also heard bad stories about direct debit.
In the end I used the 0800 000 000 service.
Its disappointing as my experience in getting a new line was really good (the person was polite and knowledgable) and it got actioned almost straight away while the last call..... didn't go that well.
