OK, so DSL connection is not your issue, although I suspect you may have line stub issues (maybe or maybe not) do you have a central filter or not.

Anyway sounds like you need to talk to your ISP (who is?)

The modem is on an inline filter on the master (and only) jack. If the new modem doesn't help I'll check with Telecom.

Hi, well dont know what the issue is, but based on the fact that there is not a high error rate and all the noise margins etc seem fine then you should have speedtest results within 80% of sync, so 11-12Mb/s through to xnet or Voda's Auckland speedtest site.

Must've been something to do with the modem, replaced it with a Draytek unit and the speeds are back into double-figures again.

Is there such a thing as a "good quality" ADSL splitter, or are they all much the same?

There is such a thing :)

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

The best filter is an central filter not only does this device have superiour performance but its designed intention is to be installed iin such a manner as to provide a clean and untapped DSL band circuit to the modem, something thats not easily achieved with other filters.
