+1 to Azzura's request. I'd be very interested to better understand what was happening.

If you can share some info that would be much appreciated.

When I know more about the root cause and am able to share I will do so.  It's still being very much actively investigated so can't comment further until I know more.

Hi All,

I had the exact same problems today the 12th (since last night the 11th) accessing HTTP on a number of client websites hosted on a server in Singapore (and also a few other random websites in the US). I could get to the sites on other servers at the data centre OK but not to the 4 sites on that server (all on same IP). I could SSH to the server fine.

And I could access the HTTP sites fine from a USA server and fine from an Auckland office server (that office also on Xtra).

HTTPS was fine from every location though, so I figured maybe there was something weird going on with something caching something poisonous somewhere.

Was tearing my hair out wondering wtf I was doing wrong but thanks to you all for documenting the situation.

Not sure why I was having this problem today since it seems to have been resolved yesterday according to this thread.

However it seems to be all OK for me now also.

Regards

OK silly me I had my TZ wrong in my profile so the messages looked a day old. All good, makes sense!

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Maybe Xtra has started traffic filtering or shaping?

Or maybe there's something screwed with the handover points to the backbone/international carrier (Telecom again in this case).

Just speculating ...

Thanks again to Peter for feedback and help.
