Have you performed an isolation test as suggested earlier, and is it possible to connect your modem directly to the demarc?

Also, post your DSL line stats immediately after a reset, and in the minutes leading up to the four hour window.

Additionally, can you borrow or buy another modem that is a different brand to the ones you have tried?

net888: Its every 4 hours from reset. On the dot. This morning it was reset at 5.30 am. Then again 9.30an. Oh guess what? Also being reset rught now too1.3o!!!

Looks like a bit eariler than you said:

Last status change 3/5/13 1:19 PM

And this is the latest graph on the test that is still running.

Saw the line was up at: Tuesday, 5 March 2013 1:17:51 p.m.
Then it was down at: Tuesday, 5 March 2013 1:18:51 p.m.
Then it was back up again at: Tuesday, 5 March 2013 1:21:31 p.m.

Still think an isolation test or being on the phone itself would be a good idea

In my humble experience, fixes that don't make sense mean the problem will come back to haunt.

But, good luck to you.

However, it is darned mean to end this fascinating serial with no solution. I was looking forward to the mystery being solved!
