timmmay: I can get three days out of my S4, at a push, two easy. That includes probably four hours of streaming music over a VPN enabled Wifi connection, reading for 30 minutes, plus regular facebook, email, calls, txt, etc. I've removed most Samsung bloat, I've rooted, I've installed Greenify, data and wifi are off unless I need them, location services off unless required (you can automate on/off with tasker but I haven't), etc. I use Llama to put the phone into airplane mode at 10pm and come out again at 7am. I have nothing running in the background unless I explicitly want it there and allow it. I Greenify Facebook, Skype, anything that gets woken when network state changes (HEAPS of apps). It's not difficult.

Why? (just wondering)

It was easy to do, phone does what I need with good battery life. She just because, really. Came from a Nokia with week battery life and initially wasn't satisfied.

Fair enough.
Always wondered why people turn everything off :)
Only things I have off are NFC and 4G... Only because my MVNO doesn't have 4G and until I can use NFC for contactless payments, it's useless (I use "trigger" to do stuff via BT). I still get 5hrs screen time everyday and then charge on my dock at night.

I'm the kind of person who turns things off at the wall when they're not required - but on the other hand I run my heat pump whenever required. It's about efficiency, not cost.

I just want my battery to last as long as possible. I don't want two batteries, getting the cases off is a pain in the butt. I have a wireless charger, which is good when it doesn't need too much juice, but it gets hot if it's lower than say 60%. Most days I only manage to use 30% of my battery so I throw it on wireless charge for 30 minutes and it's good.
