Things that make you go hmm indeed. There might be something more to your speed issues.

coffeebaron: Do you have a master filter installed?

No, just have the one phone jack in the house. Being naked DSL only device using it is the router. Again had no issues with Vodafone. Here's some video clips... ignore the background TV noise ;-) These streamed fine under Vodafone.

Also my partner since the switch is now getting DC'd with large raid groups in WoW. They have put my connection under 12 hour monitoring... so will see.

For what it's worth I have also noticed buffering while watching Twitch.tv on Bigpipe.

Still no updates from Big pipe and the other half isn't happy so we are looking at switching back to Vodafone. As an update from Vodafone they had not been notified by Bigpipe that we had switched over but they have offered to refund this months bill.

Appreciate the service Vodafone :-)

It's pretty standard when moving ISPs that you let your old provider know you've moved. It's also in our website FAQs (especially if you were on Vodafone's cable network before you signed up).

My second ONT was installed today, and my connection with Bigpipe established.

I had hoped to post feedback tomorrow, along with some basic statistics, but the connection is currently broken. Technical support moved me to CGNAT to assist with diagnosing the problem. CGNAT worked*, but I'm back on public addresses now, and I haven't heard back from them in over two hours. I'm not holding much hope for the issue to be resolved this evening, and not being able to provision a public IP doesn't instill much confidence in them being able to get static IP addressing sorted by the end of the year. We'll see.

*I consider CGNAT to be fundamentally broken, but at least I could do more than query DNS and ping the remote endpoint/DNS.

What router are you using. BigPipe recently broke my connection running an AudioCodes. Public IP won't work :(

I'm using pfSense, but also tried directly from Windows 8.1.

Hi,
sorry to hear that.  Can you PM me your email address and I'll have a look into what's going on.

(and yes, you really should always notify your current provider.  We don't notify Vodafone.  We notify Chorus and they notify Vodafone, which doesn't always go smoothly, so it's always best to do it yourself too just to make sure.)

Hi,
sorry to hear that. Can you PM me the email address you used to sign up and I'll take a look into what's going on.
Lots of people are using public IP successfully with us, so it must be something out of the ordinary (which also typically means its harder to diagnose)

Cheers

We made a small config change in the early hours of the 3rd to our Radius server, and this impacted a small number of customers on public IP (about a dozen) which made it so everything appeared normal with the diagnostics, but the internet just wouldn't work.
This wasn't picked up as an issue until later in the day because it only impacted a few people.
This was fixed around 8pm last night (or earlier depending on your exact connection), so it should be fine from now on.

sorry about that.

I have an email from your rep stating that I didn't have to :-) But anyway time to move.

Our reps definitely advise to contact your previous/old ISP to avoid any charges, this would have been discussed in the email you received confirming your connection date.

Twitch/WoW/Streaming back to working :-)

No complaints about the customer service with Big pipe, was fast on the reply but wasn't getting anywhere with a result with sorting out the issue.

Complaints about Vodafone customer service though, but wont go there.

A shame I can't get VDSL :-/
