Not having a go Sam, I hope you see where I'm coming from. I'm not happy with the plan changes either. I'm also on the $39 plan and was looking to find better bang for buck before the latest changes. I'm obviously more looking to change with this latest debacle.

I wasn't terribly happy with the plan but I wasn't overly unhappy with it either. I was on it mainly to keep the interest free deferred payment on my iPhone 6.

I understand where you're coming from though. I got stung with about $40 of overage charges because apparently none of the systems in place at Spark are real time so you can't check your actual usage. So I was pissed and left for prepay because it's impossible to go over your limit (it'll just stop working), everyone I call heaps is on spark so the new plan was perfect. This happened on Sunday/Monday so was just before these changes were announced. And even if I decided not to leave for prepay, I probably would have left now because it's kinda rude upping some plans and not the rest for no reason.

I think you should switch :P

Hey I'm peeved I didn't get an increase like other plans too. I just don't see how moving to a different plan is telling Spark you're not happy with them. You're doing exactly what they want you to do.

Surely no company 'wants' you to leave?

I'm not just peeved, as said, its almost rude

Spark are hoping that if you do leave, you choose to move to Skinny.

And yes, I guess it is a bit rude.

There have been better options in the $40 a month area for some time. I stayed with them in hope that they would at least match the competition in some areas, if not all. I could understand their move if there was a plan that did give more bang for the same buck without having to move to Skinny. Like many I want to maximise the return on any expenditure.

It's now a matter of finding who does give the best bang for buck, without losing too many features.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

And yeah while Skinny are 'separate', you're right. And for that reason although the $46 Skinny plan is good, I'll go to 2degrees.

Yeah I too held out hoping for at least something. I am honestly gutted, its been 10 years. But sometimes good things have to come to an end

All he could do was offer 500mb for 6 months but as I said, it still isn't rollover like 2degrees and Skinny. He himself said you might be better on the other plans. Come on Spark, even your employees know its a backwards step :/

But are they really competing with Skinny?? Skinny is Spark owned so I would say that Skinny is the budget model of Spark..

Skinny is to compete with 2degrees so that they are not advertising these good deals in shops etc. Remember that there are a lot of stuck in their ways old people that have used spark since they were the post office and refuse to even think about going elsewhere.

If there was instore advertising for prepay $16 etc then it might make them question the plan that they have been on forever that is costing them way more than it needs to be. Normal marketing things dont apply when you are the legacy brand that for some illogical reason old people are loyal to, so you have to do the competing stuff under a different brand.
