Oooh, looks i'll agjust now and when I connect I'll get the 100/20 plan instead of the 30/10. Wish they'd send me my letter though...streets have all been done, just waiting to be allowed to sign up now.

Anyone else having problems trying to change plans at the moment?

I've been trying to change from 30/10 fibre to 100/20 all day but have been getting error..

No problems accessing the info page. Am I correct in assuming that this pricing is nation wide not just the main centers as it was in the coper plans and do you still have to pay $14 / month for nation wide calling plans..??

You get Caller Display, Automatic Call Back, Last Number Redial, Directory Listing, Hide my Number and Call Diversion - Unreachable as part of the price.

There are other feature packs that cost more.

Called them this morning and asked to switch to the new gigatown plan, looks like they don't know much about the gigatown plan so put me on wait a while and then said they will call me back.

Just got the call back few minutes ago and said they can move me to the new gigatown plan, and I can keep my $10 off with mobile plan bundle which will be nice, so the price will just $10(99-10+39) more than what I currently have(89-10+39). And since the modem I have is Huawei 630b which only support 100m lan ports, they will send me a new modem with 1gb lan ports for a new 12 months contract.

Not sure upgrading to the new plan will make any difference for me since after 12pm the international speed just gets worse and worse till the next morning, I can't even use the full 30mbps at the moment. But it is exited to see 1gbps bandwidth so I'll give it a try.

Just thinking about this.... I'm on snap 100/50 unlimited, with national calling for $149 month.

The similar 200/20 deal with spark, with unlimited and national calling comes to $143 month. It is just not a large enough price differential to convince me to change, I'm afraid.

Also, the spark 200/20 is an inferior plan (for me) due to the slower upload (i use crashplan, dropbox, flickr).

I guess it is not for me.

Moving to 100/20 + Fibre Landline. Don't need any internal wiring work, as I'll have a cordless phone off the ONT. This also lets me drop the monthly Wiring Maintenance charge.

Tempted to move to 200/20 unlimited naked since Orcon apparently don't have any plans for 200.

If I don't want the Spark router do I still get stuck with a 12/24 month plan term?

Does anyone know how the physical 'landline' (voice) cabling will actually work?
I have implemented my own structured wiring solution in my house. I have the ONT in the garage with patch-panel and the modem/router (Asus) in the study.
I had previously understood/assumed that the VoIP solution was going to be implemented from one of the modem/router ports, but note a reference in this thread to the voice coming directly off the ONT instead.
I'm happy with either, but keen to know.

As people have pointed out, the new 100Mbit plan (and 200Mbit) plan come with a 20Mbit upload speed.
For most people that will not be too much of a big deal. For those that do want increased upload speed, it may pay to check out the business plans which offer 100/100 and 200/200.
Or move to Dunedin (gigatown!) ;)
