Dial 083201234 and it will repeat your number back to you.

I got a recorded message saying "welcome to the message exchange, please enter your mailbox number then press #".

Presume that is actually the Spark voicemail system. As I think that 083210 is the Spark voicemail number.

Dialed from an 021 number that has been ported to 2degrees.

You need to dial "083201234" on Spark not 083210. Plus 1956/1957 works on non-Vodafone mobile.

And exactly the same topic from over 10 years ago (Thanks Biddle): https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=12779

freitasm: Still no explanation on why it does not work for all phones...

It's a service provided by Telecom now Spark on their IVR platform. If one were to guess when dialing from a Vodafone Mobile number are getting the pilot number of one of the interconnect trunks between Spark and Vodafone. And for some reason either Vodafone isn't passing Party-A Caller ID, or Spark are suppressing it.

As it's a Spark number managed for Spark customers I can't see a huge desire from either the Spark or Vodafone folks to get it resolved.
