hmm might sign up for my gigatown for another 12 months since i don't plan to go anywhere ...

do I just call the call centre or can you do it in myspark?

My spark, there will be a banner up the top and a button bottom right.
Any issues let me know.

Before anyone asks I won't be speaking to anything wholesale related.

Wow that was all too easy to sign up for the contract ...

But the voucher code is "invalid"!

Maybe I have to wait 15 mins ...

My parents are on Fibre unlimited, changed them to unplan two weeks ago but hasn't been processed yet because of some error - since they haven't actually been changed yet, presume they'll be eligible when it gets processed?

It does seem poor form having earlybird signup discounts before even offering wholesale options to your partners..

The other RSP's don't seem interested anyway as no profit in it

Think of the support IT challenged people are going to require

yes i did thanks.

Turns out there were 2 options. 1 is new user 7 day trial. the other is buy rugby world cup tournament.

Unfortunately I went the path of least resistance and went down the 7 day trial path and the code was invalid.

Eventually chat figured out that I needed to choose the straight and narrow path of buy rugby world cup and enter the code there.

Chat will feed back to team to ensure people (ahem) like me choose the correct path lol

But as we have seen with Lightbox its not about the profit - its about subscriber retention (and lowering churn) and about lower subscriber acquisition costs (cf offering 3 or more months of free broadband).

From the comments in the media the Earlybird offer exceeded Sparks expectations so unless there has been a material change in the last 17 days this would appear to be a Spark HMB offer not a SparkSport offer.  Assumably the [internal] wholesale terms offered by Spark Sport to Spark HMB were acceptable and equivalent to external parties.  It would be outrageous to think that they'd be different to the wholesale terms offered to other RSP's - that an internal silo of Sparks got more favourable wholesale terms than that offered externally.

Slightly ot but, With the change to agile, spark don't work in silos like they used to when you were there.
That's not to say desiloation happens overnight, we are always striving to improve further.

There were teams involved in this from multiple areas, all bringing it together. I'm proud of what the team have done.

However to put things in the same simple terms as your using, yes this essentially was delivered by what would have been spark HMB.

To reiterate though, I can't speak to what the internal agreement is. I for one don't even know the terms of any of the offerings. Secondly, it's not my place to discuss. :)

You've got the essence though - it would be a terrible breach of competition law to think that the terms and conditions including the transfer price paid (whether explicit or implicit) for the wholesale RWC package could be different to the terms and conditions that were offered to external parties.  If the external parties chose not to accept those terms but an internal party did is just business.  But I'm guessing that legal were one teams from of the multiple areas involved in bringing it together.  Otherwise I'm seeing an "oh s..t" moment approaching.

Thanks for the info yesterday everyone. Signed up last night and just decided to not get a static ip at this stage. A dynamic public ip is still better than the MyR CG-NAT offering.

Only downside is they're not estimating changeover til around the 28th of June. Just gotta be a little patient.
