geekIT:

Thanks. MB\sec vs Mb\sec? Easier to think in megabytes than megabits, which need dividing by 8 to get a meaningful figure.

give connections are sold in units of measure of Mbps thats what you should be measuring in, your modem will display it in that unit of measure and any decent speedtest app will show it in that unit of measure too.

Oh, should I?

And Americans should be using the Metric system, airline operators should be expressing altitude in meters instead of feet, humans should have two hearts and never get cancer, Chuppachups should be easier to unwrap, every country should speak only English, maps should show the globe with NZ at the top, our flag should be the Silver Fern, and Donald Trump should never have been made President. Along with a zillion other things which are all equally unlikely.

I think you should have said that you, personally, find it easier to think in Mbps than MBps 😌.

no you should be using the unit of measure the service is sold to you in when you are fault finding.

you don't fault find on a car in imperial when all the bolts are in metric

help yourself and those that are helping you by trying to use the correct units of measure

Sure. How about you help us to understand what you're saying by using correct grammar and punctuation?

Not true.

We have a communication system known as the 'English Language".

It's quite complicated, so it's often difficult to understand by people who've been brought up in our free education system, with an unlimited amount of personal choice, but had more interest in smoking, or sex behind the shelter shed, than learning how to properly converse with their contemporaries.

Sorry to be using big words, but the English language is there to be used, and I try to use it in a way that I hope won't confuse even ignorant people.

Give it some study - it may be rewarding.

Let's cool it on mythology...

as an end user, @geekIT is simply basing it on his user experience.

He has confirmed his speed has increased, problem solved.

the rest is just semantics..

Holy crap. Can't you folks figure Mbps is line speed, MB/s is transfer?

I am locking this until you figure out how to use these.
