100% Vodafone and Spark Pay Monthly are in this space already. Skinny would be first in prepay though.

Spark have prepaid but only for the $79 plan

Huh, how wrong I was - so they do. And the $79 prepay includes hotspot where the Pay Monthly doesn’t. Only 50% off Spotify and no Lightbox but still seems an odd product matrix at first glance.

Skinny plan changes:

$36 (4.5GB) and $46 (12GB) plans change from rollover data to endless (slow) data.

New $70 plan with 40GB then endless data

$66 (30GB rollover) and $77 (40GB then endless data) plans gone

No changes to $16 (1.25GB) or $26 (2.5GB) rollover plans

--

RIP rollover. It was great being able to bank 30GB for $66 then sit on $16 plan until it was used.

These plans are frustrating, either pay for more than you need or have slow speeds.

Looking at the changes, I agree, the removal of the rollover parts of the higher plans is a shame.

I find it interesting neither Spark or Skinny specify the reduced speed for endless data after you use your included max speed data. They mention the practical effect ie degraded video, slower loading but don’t actually put a number on it.

I suppose it’s safe to assume it’s around 1.2Mbps like Vodafone is, but would be nice if this was upfront IMO.

Huh. Well this is disappointing TBH. I’ve been a big Skinny booster over the years. This makes me feel like I’ll get less value for money.

Is my rollover data expired if I move to the new endless plans?

The $36 plan looks quite appealing in the mobile app! 4831838208 MB Data at max speeds

I'm pretty sure the "Max Speed Data" is new on the home broadband plans as well.

Ahh crap, just changed to the new $36 plan from the now grandfathered rollover version. Didn’t release I had just given up the ability to rollover my data!

Seemed liked the same price for more value at first glance.. they got me.

I think I'll stay on my $35/30 days 4GB plan including rollover with Skinny Direct. I'm surprised they haven't come up with a more enticing deal since then.

going endless is a great step in the right direction, but removing the rollover data is kinda a backward step.,

i guess at end of the day they operate a business and realize rollover means customer will downgrade at some point which will lose them revenue :P

For me, these new plans suck.

The only plans that make sense for endless data are the $9 and $16.   Higher data cap plans are easy enough to ensure you don't go over the monthly limit.

also thinking purely from a business perspective.,

if voda , spark can give half price for new customers as acquiring cost, skinny should have taken a leaf from their books by offering like either a) a discount on larger packages or b) double data for 3months or so ,

they could have got a few new customers , but now i doubt it.
