0924.
no broadband - not surprised. no one has ever been able to confirm my switch of ISP to telecom.

the person is now telling me my connection is active, but she can't see it. i ask how can you tell my connection is running when you see nothing on my account - no mention of broadband. (oxymoron or a liar?) she says i applied to slingshot not telecom. why would i call telecom then? why did i receive a modem from Telecom on Friday if i applied to slingshot?

this is frustrating - a waste of my time really

on hold for a few minutes and she says someone tells her to tell me to call back at 1200 because the system's not been updated so maybe that's why she cant see anything on my account.

huh?

okay no problems as magically was connected between 1200 and 1600 and using my old username to check BB usage without problems.

to all the folks changing to telecom, COPY down the initial case number when you change, as no one else can actually see that you're changing to telecom - weird - because somehow it doesnt show on their system.

PHEW. now i shall call slingshot to make sure they stop giving me BB and therefore stop taking money off me.

Ragnor: You might have better luck ringing Telecom rather than waiting for a call back, I suspect they are pretty busy atm.

All is well, Telecom called at about 6pm

I have recieved a txt with a date of Tues 11th @ 6:04pm for the move....although this is not a garanteed move time until after I have been moved (confused?)

Now to use up 36GB - oh Windows 7 RTM on Technet great I will have all versions thanks.

cheers

Well got disconnected tonight, not at 6:04pm sometime after, perhaps closer to 7:15. Anyway changed user details to random xtra stuff and multiple dns changes on some systems and all is going ok.

Just now waiting for the free modem and welcome pack, still have no clue what my account number is or when I will recieve those details but I am not fussed. All in all a ok experience and no issues so far.

Now to make sure my previous supplier is all ok and will not be billing me for another month.

cheers

p.s. Managed to use my 36GB data :-)

On the username front, you can use xxxxxxx@xtrabb.co.nz (replace xxxxxxx with anything you like) and any password.

Note that if you need a static IP address or Port 25 Unblocking, you need to have a correctly configured username and password specific for your connection.

On the speed side, your sync rates will very much depend on distance from exchange or cabinet and line quality. AFAIK the 604 is ADSL2+ capable so if your line could support higher data rates, your 604 should be able to support them.
