Telecom phones are tested by Geekzone members. Understand your frustrations but seriously its a fine balance between managing issues caused by networks and/or handsets. Not a precise science but it is getting better.

Is there any truth to the rumour that Nokia are looking at a Push to Talk model to be released soon on the Telecom network?

If asked, I'd be happy to test the upcoming models.

As for MFR, I have had some recent success with them so I'll stay out of that arguement.

Haven't seen any problems with the latest Sanyo phones though or the Samsung A680, so those must be isolated to a few handsets maybe.

The Sanyo 7400 is a huge Telecom seller and is a great handset in my opinion. Would be my choice of handset if I could afford it.

Yeah - just heard that too. They are still saying that existing connected affected handsets should go through the usual repair process though.

Not good enough in my opinion.

Good on them for at least pulling all unsold stock though.

is it worth sending the phone in for repair if they haven't actually identifed the issue yet?? is the issue affecting all 6255's, or is it limited to a few

It is only supposed to be affecting some 6255's. My opinion would be to wait until a fix has been identified before sending one in for repair otherwise it will probably have to be sent away again.

I actaully bought three 6255s. (i'm a phone addict)
Only one has a significant fault.

there are a few software things i hope are patched, but they're consmetic and UI related. If there's a patch/upgrade i'll take it

the one i have with a fault is not ringing during incoming calls. it's intermittant, but common - i don't think that's the same fault that everyone here is talking of. I'll be taking it back to the retailer for a swap.

so, 3/3 nok 6255s are working for me :-) so whatever this fault is, can't be affecting many..

It is a random powering off issue affecting only a few users.
