If there would be any penalty, I don't know. But I expect they will sort the issue out to prevent it happening again...

Do you have evidence of this? Otherwise I'd say this comment shows a mentality of "I hate Telecom because everyone else says so".

Also as they say, two wrongs don't make one right.

NealR: And what did we learn from this exercise?

Not to dangle large delicously cooked bavarian sausages in front of pitbulls ?

Don't post stuff like this to geekzone where prominent telecommunication employees can read ?

At the least he exposed a bug in Telecoms system and should be rewarded for pointing it out.

I'm sure a lot of telecom broadband users know that full speed comes back on the last day of your usage month, even if you have exceeded your limit. You can only download so much stuff in one day anyway. With everyones usage months ending on different days, it's not going to have such a great affect on speeds.

But I agree, it's the sorta thing you keep to yourself.

Doesn't worry me anymore as I've switched to big time..

I'm with MF here.

Trying to justify your wrong doing (and yes, it is wrong whether its morally, or legally wrong to exploit/abuse something) just because in your personal opinion Telecom have "ripped you off", is in itself, wrong.

If you're unhappy with being as you call "ripped off", then you are more than welcome to move providers. But it should never be used as an excuse to do something else.

That is all.

To actually try and drag this conversation back ontopic, I was using the very nicely designed online billing portal tonight to see my usage and bills etc, and my XT 1GB plan is showing 0MB usage both months, Strange as I use my iPhone a fair bit.

I did get the 80% warning TXT 3 months ago, but the online bill only goes back 2 months. This months billing cycle which has been going for a few weeks shows 2MB.

I feel there are gliches in the billing matrix, at least with Telecom it isn't always accidentally overbilling like my old Telco hehe.

Neil track me down and bill me! :-)

If you phone *333 (and then option 2 I think?), does it give you a more realistic figure?  Or the same amount?

Yes it is! That *333 service is really cool, or perhaps I'm still gobsmacked when billing and technical services work without problems after my shellshocked Vodafone billing problems.
