I just got mine at the Northlands Mall in Christchurch and there was about 12 gone before I got there and about 4 more after me. The vAlidation seemed to be down for a while as I waited quite a while for validation.

Just reading an earlier post in this tread and need confirmation.

With this prepaid offer, if I don't use the card during any given month, I will not get charged anything. There is no $29.95 up front.

I get charged at casual data rate untill I reach the $29,95 limit then get the rest of the 500 megs free.

If I only use the card once in any given month and download 5 megs of data, then cost to me for that month would be $1.00.

Please confirm..........

Correct. You're only charged when you use it. From Telecom: For prepaid billed mobile broadband customers, the included data allowance starts on the 1st of the calendar month and must be used within that same calendar month, and is charged on a pay-as-you-use basis. You will be charged for any data used in excess of your monthly data allowance within that calendar month. Any unused data from your monthly allowance that is not used in the same calendar month does not transfer to the next calendar month.

Below is a copy and paste from Telecom's T&Cs which (kind of because it states two different things) answers your question:

For Telecom mobile customers on prepaid mobile broadband plans, at the beginning of the calendar month you will be charged $1 per MB up until your monthly plan price, and then you will receive your remaining allocated eligible data usage, up to the total allocated monthly included data, for free (at $0.00 per MB). For example, if you've subscribed to the 500 MB mobile broadband plan you will be charged 10 cents per MB for the first 300 MB and the next 200 MB are free. And if you use less than 300 MB of data per month then you will only be charged 10 cents per MB for what you use and not the monthly fee.

From my understanding:

"Once you start using your T-Stick, you have until the end of the calendar month before your 500MB of Prepaid data expires."

"There is a 6 month expiry for all prepaid credit."

Therefore start using on the 1st of Jan for full calendar month.

So is it 10c or $1 per MB?

Telecom state:

"The casual data rate is just $1 a day for up to 10MB and $1 for each additional megabyte you use in the same day. You'll only be charged on the days you use data. "

The sticker on the box that it comes in clearly states that it expires at the end of the month you use it in - no mention of having to use it this month.

They probably can't stop resales. Just like how nothing can be done about the 'Not For Individual Sale' cans of Coke you find in a dairy.

Well Leading Edge on Tory Street, Wellington, do not have any stock. Nor did they know about it, or know the terms and conditions. They 'might' have stock tomorrow.
It would have been nice if Telecom could get stock to all of their stores. Especially as they have a lot of other Telecom services out of that building.
