You're late. This was posted here already - read up the page...

I don't see a Twitter quote anywhere in this thread actually.

I raised an eyebrow when I read "Freitasm",  as there was no Twitter quote, I thought his response was rude !

Why? I am just pointing out there is a confirmation link already directly to the Telecom site, posted here at the same time as the Twitter post.

Is the current issue affecting only Taupo and south again? Hamilton here, no known issues, data and voice worked all day.

Hi all,

Now the XT Network has officially crashed three or more times, you would wonder if the Government might step in a force Vodafone to open up their network to enable XT users to temporary 'Roam' ?? How else can they 'fix' the issue with the network being used and relied on to work 100% - it's not like they can go back to CDMA without issuing new handsets... the logistics are mind boggling?

I am sure (correct me if I am wrong) Telco's are considered essential public services like the power companies. Disruption can mean emergency services can't communicate etc..

Any thoughts??

Public Services Act - Whilst they are owned privately, they must comply

I am pretty sure that telecommunications aren't classed as essential services.

Force Vodafone to open their network? I wasn't aware Telecom were asking them to.
I'm sure if Telecom gave them an offer Vodafone would consider it
