freitasm: So the (possibly faulty) port is now available to someone else? ;)
plambrechtsen: I'm going to chase up with the CTS folks about that and check to see what your old port was and see what can be done to block it.
Duane:
My mental picture maybe wrong, but I think of the physical connections in the cabinet much like a core network switch in that there are multiple cards each with x amount of ports on them, and then each port is configured to route to x destination via vlan or similar.
Im guessing theres at least 20 (?) or more ports so unlikely the card will be swapped out and all that can be done is it will be marked as bad (and disabled via software) but not physically removed?
Is that a reasonable assumption or have I got it horribly wrong?
