csa: OK, so I am rural NZ so at the moment I can only use telecom mobile network as the others don't have coverage in our area. However I want a phone I can use world wide as I am travelling extensively next year. I was told to buy my iphone 5 online from the apple store and that way I get a phone that is unlocked "worldwide". But it seems that I can only get the GSM phone and telecom isn't GSM yet?? Am I right or am I missing something? HELP I want to order my new iphone now, but don't want to make a mistake?

csa: JohnR I live in Rahotu Taranaki
joker97: ok havent had my coffee but this is interesting - it used to be which network can i get 3G on which band and where ... now swap 3g with LTE
are you saying in town LTE bandwidth is (would be) 1800 and in rural it is 700MHz?
Steve113: Question - what is the actual 3G frequency currently being used by 2degrees, voda and telecom?
Steve113: Agreed.
Anything 700MHz will not happy till end of 2014.
we're better off assuming 1800 and 2600 will be in trial for possible lte scenarios
