Should be more invites going out tomorrow if you didn't.

Not me, I've got my fingers crossed for today though. :)

If you PM me your real name I can take a look at the list and give you an idea of when/if you might be getting an invite.

We'll be sending out invites probably until the end of this week, then taking a break over Xmas (new connections over Xmas break is not ideal for customer experience if things go wrong) then kicking back off in Jan, depending on how many people respond etc

Thanks, PM sent.  I agree totally about avoiding new connections over Xmas, doing that is just asking for trouble.

Hey BigPipe

Got my invite a few minutes ago...YAY! However, I need to know if you will be offering static IP services?

really sorry I didn't see this post before Xmas.

For the trial, we won't be doing static IP.

For our full launch, we haven't yet decided exactly how/if we implement them.  Major shortage of IPv4 at the moment, and IPv6 not ready as standalone.

Hi,

We don't offer any kinds of mail services at all.  If you need a mail gateway there are plenty of other options out there.

cheers

All good. As much as I'd like to have the BigPipe service, I have given up my BigPipe invitation as work requirements mean a static IP is necessary. I can only hope my current ISP now competes with BigPipe.

If you guys are still looking for people to be involved in the trial I'd love to get on-board!
Currently with Snap but have a second line on the property that isn't currently being used and would be very interesting in doing a comparison between the two connections on VDSL

Hi,  We're not doing second lines for the trial sorry.

But don't forget:

  • we are FREE until the end of march,
  • there is no connection fee
  • you can leave anytime with no penalty

so if you switch your Snap connection to us, you can always switch back to Snap if you don't like it, and the free months should make up for any termination fee you might have.

Sadly I just called snap and my cancellation fee is $496 :(
Not quite equal to 2 free months. Was really keen to try what you're offering

If the line is already in place, and only require an exchange/cabinet visit by chorus, then the answer is probably yes.

If they require a technician to visit your house to install a fresh line, then no.

What if the 2nd line has an activate POTs connection, but no broadband. Could this be used?

not for the trial, we're not doing any second lines at all.

But once we launch that should be fine.

PM me your details anyway and we can take a look (is it for you, or just asking generally?)

Just a general query. Alas I require static IP for some of the stuff I do, so not able to make the move myself.
