I sometimes limit the amount of spare SIMs I carry if I am getting close to my baggage allowance for check-in.  I've also found that cutting the margins off documents, or having a hair cut shortly before travelling can help with this.

It referred to the device (space for the SIM mount and weight for the mount and the SIM) because you mentioned the wearables. Not entirely unimportant for the technical layout of a tiny smartwatch. But knowledge - whether a lot or little - fortunately weighs nothing … on a scale.
