That's alright, thank you (both) for the test lo! Very appericated Cool I guess I can survive without streaming family guy lol, but now I am now just worry that Big Time will go down like Go Large Frown But what the heck, I guess if Big Time fail, there is always Pro plan Tongue out

What I reccommend you do is give a go at the plan. Its decent for the price. Also web browsing isn't dial up speed compared to the go large plan.

Web browsing and YouTube speed is much fast than Vodafone

I'm sure your father will enjoy the plan considering he uses alot of YouTube. My Mum uses alot of YouTube!

You are better off not talking about how you are infringing copyright on public forums imo.

No problem man. I saw a few people on this forum talking about P2P, torrenting etc so I thought it was alright to post this sort of stuff.

Let us know if you are planning to change to Telecom BT Plan.

I have no idea if it's against Geek Zone rules but either way it's not a good idea to be effectively admitting to doing things that are not 100% legit, you never know who is reading!

p2p and torrenting have legit uses you know?
They aren't only used for downloading questionable material!

Don't help the bad image please.. next the media will be linking p2p and torrents with terrorist funding.. oh wait.. they are already...

I was referring to the post which had: "go to site x to get show xyz or just download it via torrent sites.." it has been removed now so you might not be aware that's what we were talking about...

Agreed.

I'm still hanging fire till a few months have passed and see the performance then. From what I've heard, un-cached YouTube videos are pathetic at best and HTTP beng throttled on the odd occasion.

PLUS, the pings issue which seems to be intermittent.
so we'll see..

Also, can some users please post the highest (or consistently highest) speed they can achieve on torrents (public or private) and if you are using ADSL1 or 2. Just curious to see how managed it is.

Bearing in mind my ADSL1 connection tops out at 3000kb/s, I find it is really a case of how well they are seeded.  If the particular torrent(s) is particularly well seeded, then I have maxed my line out (350kB/s) at 6pm.  It definately matters how many NZ peers/seeders there are.  'Averagely' seeded torrents usually go at about the same speed I upload (faster upload = faster torrent).  Offpeak (2am-9am) they go full steam.

PS: All Linux ISO's and other legal things of course :)

This thread is being locked now.

As it has gone beyond the scope of the OP several times, and is very hard for people to find information.

Please feel free to start a new thread if you need anything specific, or have problems. And a reminder that we do not condone the infringement of copyright in anyway, and it is against the FUG to discuss it here.
