I really need help... I can't send text messages, and i want to know if it has something to do with the Roaming symbol at the top of my screen. If so, how do I take it off? Cheers.

Yes it is, take sim out for a few minutes , leave the battery out. If that dies not fix it just wait. Also go to a telecom store and get a new sim as mentioned on the previous page of this thread, free from telecom.

Go into a Telecom retail or dealer store and get the "Fixed" sims for the R models, there is no charge, there are now a specific sim for the Telecom R model phones that fix this issue

Do we keep our existing prepay credit if we get a new sim as above?

The credit stays with the number, so yes you would keep it.

So I've copied my contacts onto my phone in preperation for a new sim to stop the double contacts, however now when I go into my contacts there are two entries because it is reading both the sim and the phone. I changed the default memory over to 'phone' but they are always there. Any ideas on how to change?

Delete all of the ones that are on the SIM card.

nzbnw: For those with an R6, R7 or R90 with the dual contacts issue or the phone appears as it is roaming, there is a fix out now.

Visit a Telecom store to pick up a new replacement SIM.

I went to the store where the r6 purchased from. DSE staff were really helpful - they spent quite some time
on the phone to support quering the fix for the R6. For the roaming problem, a new sim was not required - telecom did a setting change at their end fixing the R roaming issue.

As for predictive texting, the R6 i find annoying in that predictive text cant be turned off by default(unless theres a setting somewhere i havnt found)

compared to nokia phones ive used, id steer clear of the R6 unless theres an improved firmware imho.

You can't, pretty sure it even says so inthe manual.

I can't wait for open phone OSes to become standard, too many low end phone OSes being desinged by monekys.
