Still out for me in chch :\ I would like more than $10 compensation im sick of this. If it happens again im off XT for good. If vodafone released $12 non stop text like XT i would be their already. Thats only reason im still with em :\

maknz: Ironic how Alcatel-Lucent's NZ head left today (or a short time ago).

Also they're in big dodo in the US http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10627659

I see 3News tonite at 6.15  "Breaking News. It's rumored that Telecom's XT network is having problems again"

Txted to me by a friend: "Telecom regrets to inform you that the network has gone down on everyone except you. We regret to inform you that no one would go down on you, not even a network."

maknz: XT's superior pricing is what's making me stay. Unlimited texting and 120MB of data (100MB simply isn't enough, sorry VFNZ) cannot be found elsewhere. 2degrees is a joke for smartphones.

Unless I'm confused by your post you are confused about pricing!

Vodafone charge $10 for 100MB and 10c per MB after this. Telecom charge $12 for 120MB and then 50c per MB after this. 120MB costs the same on both networks but if you go over the 120MB data is significantly cheaper on Vodafone.

For me and it seems most friends in *Wellington* cbd and inner suburbs since 5 PM:

SMS is 100% working (even to off-net)
Data is 100% working
Calls are 0% working

What are others getting?

But if you go with the XT 500MB plan on PREPAID it's 10c per 1MB

$2.50 for 25MB, $5 for 50MB, $12 for 120MB etc.

Then it caps at $30 at 300MB and starts charging 10c per 1MB again at 500MB

Actually it's even cheaper than that with the bonus top ups.

The charging on POST PAID is $30 "up front" though so you can all imagine why I switched to prepaid.

The only thing keeping me on Telecom XT is the fact that nearly everyone I text is on CDMA. If they were all on XT or Vodafone I would change in a second.

Auckland was never part of the outage. I suspect you've got a seperate issue.
