Have you got more detail on what you are trying to do? Basically if you are connecting to an ethernet port then probably OK but if you need to plug into the ATA port then not.

I assume with the introduction of this that means the end of data dongles and their plans?? I don't see anything now on the Skinny website except for a 250Meg, $5 a week plan..

He probably means because you use CG-NAT, will VoIP work? I've got a Skinny box coming, so will be testing this soon.

Waiting on an unlimited plan and Ill be able to finally get rid of my ADSL, as the install date for fibre keeps being pushed further and further out (even though it is 4-5 houses away same with VDSL). Already on Skinny mobile and think the service is great.

So would like to see a combo with Skinny broadband and unlimited. Just hope it works with 2talk VOIP.

Mobile based delivery does not work well for a high bandwidth (unlimited) type accounts as the available bandwidth per base station is finite and very limited. It is extremely unlikely you will ever see unlimited offers on this type of technology.

As long as you are using their sip proxy in your configuration its very likely 2talk will work.

I'm planning to get a connection soon to play with, so will post back (probably in new year) my results.

An update: I have acquired a Skinny 4G broadband connection. Initial tests with 2talk VoIP have been successful, so looks like VoIP may work successfully :)

Awesome! My GF lives in a unit in Pukekohe and there is no availability for other ADSL services, she is a light user so this would be perfect.

I do like to idea of when your 60GB is up simply topping up the next 60GB,

I am hanging out for this service. I hope they roll it out nation-wide sooner rather than later. I would much prefer to go with this than the 4G Spark or Vodafone options, but can't wait forever...

is there a SIM card in the unit? if yes can i pop out the broadband sim card and put in a standard skinny sim card with standard data on it so it could be used in other locations? ie travelling

Hi Haydin, our Skinny Broadband modem is not network locked, so what you're saying is possible. However, the Skinny SIM will only work in the Skinny Broadband modem it came with. Please also note that removing the Skinny SIM card from your Skinny Broadband modem will also void the warranty so we normally wouldn't recommend you do this.

Then I ask how would removing a sim effect the warranty of the unit
Apologies for the delay in our reply, we have security seals on the modem, and removing the sim does indeed void the warranty unless we advise you to remove the sim as part of a troubleshooting process. Usually you wouldn't need to remove the sim for any reason, as the only sim cards that work in Skinny modems are Skinny sim cards specifically.
