Its like if you buy something from the supermarket that says bonus 125g or something.

It's always going to be a limited time offer. If they explicitly said 'top up $20 and get $25' then maybe you have a case but I believe it always said 'get $5 bonus credit', which indicates to most people its a limited thing.

IMO when XT launched, this topup bonus was sold in the marketing as being fundamental to XT prepaid pricing. It never said that it was a launch offer. We were told "On XT Prepaid, ..." the more you top up the bigger the bonus.

It's not like Nescafe one day having bonus 50g when you buy 100g.

It's more like Nescafe launching a brand new NeXTcafe blend and saying "whenever you buy NeXTcafe, you'll get bonuses every time you buy".

Buy 100g and get 125g
Buy 200g and get 300g
Buy 300g and get 500g

Running this for over a year and then suddenly withdrawing it (with xx days notice).

I only hope that there will be more Telecom jokes on 7 days show.

That Xmas special made me laugh.

Especially the impersonations of the CEO in the silly add with him fail fishing in the remote lake.
We can all tell that there was no reception there & he was talking to himself..

That would cheer me up...

I actually moved to XT due to the 3G everywhere and bonus credit with very decent data cap. It's going to cost me extra $3/month but that's ok, I bought loads to extra top up's before it ended. Supply should last good 7 months. Hopefully new decent data plans will come out by then hopefully.

Do whatever you want to do man.

The Greenstone river, by the edge of Lake Wakatipu near Glenorchy. And I've been there before, there is XT reception.

ahmad: Telecom this is sh!t move.

To all those saying that the topup bonus thing was a promotion - really? I must have been duped by all their fancy marketing because I never ever recall it being a limited time promotion. I know that Non-stop TXT and TXT 2500 were promos but topup bonus seemed to be sold as a permanent feature of XT prepaid??

That sums it up.

Its funny. XT works in places no one needs it to. But it fails hard in places where we need it to work.
My area is a great example.

Pretty much XT network seems to phase in & out of reception all day.
The old network, gets reception most of the time.

While only a little bit, its usable.

And yes we have complained to Telecom & chorus.
Chorus said talk to telecom. Telecom said talk to telecom.

We said wtf ?

2nd time we went to have another crack, a manager said that unless we get all 250 people in the town & area to complain, they couldnt care.

Gave up on that crusade.

Sounds like cell breathing. Get everybody else to turn their phones off and you should be sweet!

Next thing you will forget Vodafone's 3GB mobile data is a promotion, with no date to end. So here is a reminder: it's a promotion.

Just a question - anyone know if there is anything you can do with useless prizes? Like video calling and ringtones, can't use either on my phone

Yes, I know they are free so I should just be grateful, but good to know if there are any other options.
