Hi any update on Spark Smart Modem software as now i have my neighbor with same problem unable to connect and disconnections. Can you use Vodafone HG659 router(as I have 3 spare) on Spark fibre network or does it need to be Spark HG659b router in case I need to change my neighbor back to this modem if problems keep up. Ever since I changed back to HG659b never had any problems instantly connects and no disconnections, only problem less speed and devices so definitely prefer to change back to smart modem when fixed.

@sparknz ... does this ring a bell at Spark?

Any expert from Spark able to give any updates on the Spark Smart Modem?

Quite a few Spark Smart Modem users on Geekzone are having problems.

Are the issues firmware, hardware, user application?

Any update on firmware and progress?

With an interest in WiFi 6 and wondering if the Spark Smart Modem might be able to do WiFi 6 I did a Google search.

The specs suggest WiFi 5 only - 802.11ac.

Since the Spark Smart Modem has roots in Arcadyan, I did a Google search for: Arcadyan Experia Box 10A WiFi 6

Turns up: KPN Box 12.

Needed to use Google translate to read this in English.

WOW looks like Spark people have been reading this forum and finally updated software hope this fixes problems. Thanks @BuzzLightyear for info and just checked neighbors router and also updated to v6.00.17 build04 will keep a watch for a few days and if ok will reinstate my Spark Smart Modem and retire HG659b router hopefully with increase in speed and back to no disconnections or can't connect messages.

On a side note to this my neighbors daughter didn't realize phone had disconnected from WIFI and next day went to use data and it was all used after watching movie night before so not a good situation with faulty software.

Mine is still v6.00.15 build05. Perhaps they are doing staged rollouts to check for issues before letting it loose on everyone.

I just changed back to Spark Smart modem from HG659b first time didn't have ethernet cable in properly and didn't connect, then when in correctly automatically restarted router green red then green lights took a while but did update and now modem on v6.00.17.Build 04. When changing modems over also restarted ONT don't  if that made difference, now got speed back so will just have to see if update fixes over next few days.
