Did a reboot and now updated to 17 Build 4
Both the smartmesh (on wireless backhaul) are still on 1.00.08
See how this goes - had a connection / IP issues the last few days , but overall things have been reasonably stable.

After a reboot at 9.30pm I am now on v6.00.17 build04.
After a quick look around I can't see any user changes.
It would be good to see a revision history.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.
Mine updated without a re-boot a day or so ago . So must be a staged rollout.
My SmartModem rebooted itself earlier today (found out when my videoconference failed mid-stream) and modem is now updated to v6.00.17 build04.

Mine too, under similar circumstances :-(. Shame they don't have an option to postpone to a convenient time like Windows Updates. Never mind, I'll forgive them an inconvenient reboot if the problem is fixed!

#3 is a complex one as one member here has shown, so it's not fully resolved but is a damnsight better for your average home.
It's probably only an issue if you use apps that look for UPnP devices using multicast SSDP. For example, a remote control app for your TV or home theatre searching the network for such devices.
If you just have the Smart Modem you'll probably be ok. The Mesh (or combo of Mesh and Smart Modem) seems to block the UDP replies to SSDP broadcasts, but sometimes not.
So for most people, it may be a non-issue.
I am on Skinny Unlimited Fibre Ultra (900/400) (No mesh).
I have been running my spare Spark Smart Modem for some time which recently updated to firmware v6.00.17b4.
Yesterday I reconnected my Skinny Smart Modem which had v6.00.15b05 and overnight it updated to v6.00.16b01.
I have not had any problems with either of these modems and firmwares.
It would seem that Skinny firmware updates are one step behind Spark.

Mine finally updated 2 days ago. So the block is now removed. Cool.
At the risk of tempting fate, I would like to report that since my router was updated to v6.00.17 build04, it has been rock solid. No restarts in 16 days.

Hi any update on Spark Smart Modem software as now i have my neighbor with same problem unable to connect and disconnections. Can you use Vodafone HG659 router(as I have 3 spare) on Spark fibre network or does it need to be Spark HG659b router in case I need to change my neighbor back to this modem if problems keep up. Ever since I changed back to HG659b never had any problems instantly connects and no disconnections, only problem less speed and devices so definitely prefer to change back to smart modem when fixed.
Same hardware different firmware, B denotes Spark otherwise the two are identical afaik. Spark 659b firmware can be flashed to VF 659 routers.
Note - I've done this on three occasions, each time TWO flashes were required. After first flash VF user/password remains, a second flash is needed then you can login with Spark default user/pass

Thanks for this info, will file for future reference as didn't need to use 659b because Spark updated Smart Modem which has been working fine for me and neighbor since updating to v6.00.17 build04. Only 1 little problem was probably just a bug after couple weeks went to connect and asked me to enter password which was already saved so just entered again then next day neighbor asked if I had changed password which hadn't been changed he entered again and all ok so just rebooted router and checked software version still the same and been ok since.
Moving house soon and are needing to resign the fibre (move to gigabit too) and have notcied all Spark's BB plans are open-term/don't supply a modem. Any know how on how to get one? Or is it just BYO?
Unless Spark have changed plan details recently, you can sign up for a term and get the SmartModem free. I also found better response going into the store rather than online. I'd moved houses and the folk in the store said this was the same as signing up a new term and provided me the free modem than and there. I'd previously tried to do this online, but the response was that when they checked with the "accounts department" I was not eligible for the free SmartModem. Suggesting that if you get push back from one channel, don't give up, keep trying and use a different customer channel to engage.
grolschie: You can sign up for a term and get the modem free I think.
Yeah, online though the only option was open term
