old3eyes: Unlikely that post paid plans will be changed due to the nature of the beast. Lock you in for 12 or 24 months..

I am in a post paid plan, but I have not been in a term contract for at least ten years. I change plans and don't get locked into that stuff.

Oh but you can, as long as the pack is?available?for sale (i.e. this pack is only?available?for sale up?until?31/10/12). It would then be set to auto re-new, but you can simply disable this to in effect make it a one off.

What I was saying before, is it would be possible to?subscribe?to two of these packs (auto renewing), so 120mins, 10,000SMS and 900MB for $38 if you needed more?minutes, SMS or Data.

Both pack's and any other pack you purchase can co-exist currently.

Assuming you can't get two packs at once, this is a simple spreadsheet i whipped up to compare the plans

Sorry if its confusing to read, the bottom two rows show what happens if you pay the same amount using the $19 pack as a base

eg for the $40 plan, 40-19 = $21. Spent on calling thats $21/.44 = 107 minutes. I did it for minutes only very quickly, this could be achieve for data as well using packs for better value.

I signed up to a post-paid plan in January, it was only a 1 month term so I was free to cancel any time after that..

Which I will be.

If you are happy with postpaid why don't you give them a call, or better go into a Telecom store and see if they will match the prepaid offer? As you point out you are free to switch to prepaid with only a month's notice anyhow.

I see that the 59c/min on Onebill has now been dropped to 44c/Min called Smart Onebill. Think this cost for post pay should be about 35c/ min or a ratio as it was when Onebill came in at 59c/ min Vs 89c / min on prepay..

Yeah that's way improved to what it was like last time I used it. Last time I have to jump thru all sorts of hoops by calling *333 and entering topup codes. Still prefer Mtopup though

I see in this morning's paper that Vodafone are offering $19 50/5000/500 prepay extra. But only until 31 October. Christmas offers will cut in after that I assume. Not enough to tempt me from 60/5000/500 I'm afraid.

Vodafone was forced to offer that coz of telecom and 2degrees got that plan..

where was this level of competition all these years..

I don't know for sure that being able to have 2 concurrent subscriptions is intentional so you may want to double check with Telecom.

Signing up to the same pack twice.. thats interesting..

I wonder if thats a flaw in their system or is it really allowed..
