www.telecom.co.nz/whatsnew/broadbandservicestatus/?f=all - seems not to be updated, but I understand that this issue should now be fixed.

My advice, for anyone who actually cares about their email at all, is to follow the advice MF dished up on page 3...

freitasm:
lawiephillips: If it is not cleared up I will be going away from xtra as my email server. My colleagues say they are receiving emails from other servers.

It's agreed around here that the best option is always to use your own domain name with a service such as Google Apps, Windows Live Domains or paid services such as Google Apps, Office 365.

I do understand what the problem is, I do understand how it was fixed. Based on that understanding, and my experience of problems of this nature, the problem will come back at some stage, it won't be a question of if, in my view, just when.

(Please note, this is my personal view, not in any way an expression of the views of anyone I've talked to about this specific fault.)

Appears NOT to be fixed - 'the issue is still occurring' - see below Status from Telecom site just now:

Email Issue:

Some Xtra customers are experiencing emails being bounced back to them when sending to @clear.net.nz and @paradise.net.nz email addresses.

Yahoo applied a fix on midday Mon 24th however subsequent testing has indicated that the issue is still occurring.

We continue to work to resolve this issue and apologise for any inconvenience.

Please note that not all emails to those domains are being bounced, some emails are being delivered.

Yes, that was my point about the site not being updated.

New ones bouncing or old ones just coming back at you?

I expect that you'll continue to see ones from the start of the week up until now come back until they either clear down or time out (which will continue to throw message back at you until delivery failure.)

But anything you send from now forward should be going though, or is that not the case?

Bizarre. So now when I see on Telecom's site that something's not fixed, I should not necessarily take that to mean what it says. What's behind you suggesting it was fixed?

Ya, Wednesday I'd expect to come back at you with a failure notice eventually unless Yahoo also suppressed the messages (I don't know).

Today I would expect to get delivered, but I would have expected that to have been delivered within minutes of you sending it.

I really don’t think it is helpful at all to the discussion to post a report of the issue being fixed. Can we just post stuff that is clear and adequately substantiated.

In light of the history, it may be prudent to hold off before popping the champagne.

Ok, fair comment.

ABeerForMe:  Can we just post stuff that is clear and adequately substantiated.

No I doubt we can.  What would you consider more adequate and substantiated than what I have to say?

ABeerForMe:  In light of the history, it may be prudent to hold off before popping the champagne.

I wouldn't be popping champagne at all.  I know what was done to fix the problem and I doubt it will stay 'fixed' as I also understand what caused the breakage in the first place and so far I haven't seen enough evidence of change that would cause me to believe that this will stay fixed.

I've been having this problem for over a month now - the odd, occasional email to my TCL hosted domain not delivered, and only finding out about it when a person calls to enquire. Heres a header from one which I just found out about, which was sent yesterday from a .yahoo address:
