Wtf now I have to pay more than $79 just get the hotspot why couldn't they just do 10gb out of the 22gb ....oh sorry it was all about the money in the end....
Other providers got better deals tbh

They seem to be a bit out of touch with reality, creating this 10gb hotspot adding is just confusing especially when it doesn't appear to align with the actual plan

Don't know why they couldn't have just kept the unlimited plan and created a new $79.99 22gb plan to match 2degs and Vodafone

I know it’s slightly different but I have a mate who used over 100gb on the Skinny Direct unlimited plan, and regularly tethers his phone using the data binges and uses 200+ gb of data. He’s never been pulled up or lost connection. So I don’t think they’re enforcing this actively. However, it’s possible that they will start to get more strict on it now that more people will sign up.

And your friend is the reason why we can't have nice things.

Alternatively, this is why providers are lifting the limits.

Anyhow, anyone got xp tethering via sideloading on iOS?

I've got a VM on GCP Sydney, could set up VPN there.

I see they've also launched a 1GB for $1 tethering add-on as well now. Pretty cheap if you just need a quick tether.

So one could use a VPN on their phone to bypass, if needed. Against T&C's, of course. Using a Citrix session from my phone gets a little painful.

A VPN from your phone isn't going to allow you to tether and get around TTL detection.

There are easy ways to get around the restrictions if you're network savvy and have appropriate hardware, but I won't be posting them here.
