BuzzLightyear:
Hemi88: Any one else having problems with default dns with Apple services it started last night, phone has always been set to Auto dns I changed it to google dns this morning and the App Store/music/tv worked fine again, changed it back to auto started doing same thing it would randomly work/not work, changed dns to one from sparks website working again if I set it back to auto it starts playing up again seems to only affect Apple services

Nope and was happily using Apple services last night incl Apple TV movies.

I had this issue and fixed it

There is a page on the router and the DNS for DHCP (I'm at work so going off memory here) is blank. Put in Sparks DNS servers and everything worked again immediately.

catspyjamas:

Can anyone tell me when the Spark Smart Modem updated to v6.00.17 build04 please?

From my notes:

20210309

v6.00.17 build04

You can check GZ for confirmation around 9 March.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Is everyone else on Skinny also still on Firmware  v6.00.16 build01 ?

It is strange for it to be so far behind the Spark..

cheers

I've got a Skinny modem but my provider is with Now NZ. Anyone know how to update the routers to the latest version ? or is can we install the one from Spark as i believe the Skinny modems are also from Spark.

As far as I know these Spark/Skinny Smart modems will only auto update on a Spark network.

I have both Spark and Skinny modems.... my Skinny modem firmware remains one step older than the Spark firmware.

If you are not on a Spark network, I have read that the best option for a firmware update is to find a friend on a Spark network and connect your modem there to get the update.

edit: I don't know what network Now uses.

Thanks i think thats what i'll have to do. But would it update instantly or would it update on a specific date? like i read on someones comment that updates happen on monday or something.

I had been given that Monday update info from Skinny.

Eventually Skinny said that their firmware was the slightly older version than the Spark version.

When I swapped in my Spark modem on to my Skinny network the update occurred within 10 minutes of power up.

Ah interesting, I am on the skinny network with v6.00.16 build01 so I guess we just need to wait until skinny catches up with Spark eventually.

I guess so. I think someone said that the auto firmware update process is a little different between the Spark and Skinny modems.

Has anyone had problems with Plex remote access on the Smart Modem? It would intermittently stop working for me. Since I've changed to another router I haven't had any issues.
